RESEARCH UPDATES
Dr. Greg Skomal and John Chisholm of the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries, working with the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, have had an active start to the research season! Two predations, one exciting shark and seal chase, over a dozen white sharks spotted and four white sharks tagged.
OTHER SPECIES WE'VE ENCOUNTERED
The water has been teeming with Menhaden and we've been fortunate to see Humpback whales and even a Bluefin tuna close to shore!
SHARKTIVITY APP
Our Sharktivity App, sponsored by Everglades Boats and Amelia Rose Jewelry, is now available on iPhones. Users can view sightings and detections and even report their own sightings! To learn more and download the App click HERE.

GREAT WHITE SHARK EXPEDITIONS
In partnership with Chatham Bars Inn, Atlantic White Shark Conservancy announces the debut of this year’s Great White Shark Expeditions, providing guests with the opportunity to shadow the team of scientists conducting research off the coast of Cape Cod. Visitors and locals alike can take a seat aboard the resort’s vessels with scientist Lindsay Graff from the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy and watch the research team as they work to identify and potentially tag individual great white sharks.
Expeditions run Mondays and Thursdays through September 29, and are weather permitting. As the only tours offered on the Cape whose donations directly benefit white shark research, education and conservation efforts, a portion of the trip is tax deductible. Registration for the trip includes participants’ entrance at The Chatham Shark Center™ and an aerial photo by Ocean Aerials of your trip.
Great White Shark Expeditions are $2500 (up to five passengers). To learn more and charter your Expedition contact the Chatham Bars Inn at 508-945-6871
Note - White shark sightings are not guaranteed. You do not need to be a guest at the Chatham Bars Inn to book an Expedition but we highly recommend staying there!
